Hi all NOGGOA members and others who access our web site.

The annual Golden Gloves Mid-Year meeting will be this Sept 14-16 in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids.  The meeting will be on Saturday and probably last all day. The 2008 National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions to be held in Grand Rapids will be discussed, and the venue and hotel will be checked out.

Our (NOGGOA'S) main interest, will be the 1st Annual World Golden Gloves Tournament to be held in Hinckley, MN, at the Hinckley Grand Casino, November 16-17.  Registrations will be Thursday November 15th, and the Tournament will be 22 bouts Friday night and 11 Championship bouts Saturday night. Details of the Tournament will be given at our meeting, and I will pass that information on as soon as I get home.

Golden Gloves, Ireland, Canada and Mexico will be the first Teams to participate in this 1st Annual Tournament. It will be a great one. 

NOGGOA  will be in charge of the officials, and we will pass out application forms to all Golden Gloves Delegates at the Mid-year meeting for any officials who wish to work the Tournament. All officials must be recommended by their respective Golden Gloves Delegate, just like at the National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions.

Also, at the Mid-Year Tournament, there will be bids for the 2009 tournament, possibly from Omaha, and New Jersey also.

W e had a good tournament in Chattanooga, TN, and we raised quite a bit of money for the Scholarship Fund. We will continue to do that at each National Tournament. We accept donations all year long if anyone wishes to do so. Simply make out a check payable to the NOGGOA SCHOLARSHIP FUND, and mail it to Howard Passman (our Scholarship Treasurer), at 1525 NW 3rd St,  Suite B, Deerfield Beach, FL, 33442. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
